Chrome
by Destiny Lane
Louis-Nicholas Vauquelin discovered the element chromium in 1797. He mixed different substances together, particularly crocoite hydrochloric acid. In 1798 he found out that he could make metal chromium by heating chromium oxide in charcoal oven. Chromium is a silver-grayish color. It’s usually shiny, and very easily polished. Most people see chromium on cars. People like to decorate their cars with what you may know as “chrome”.
